Shaggy’s in the Pass teamed up with the fire department to help feed those in need this Thanksgiving. The restaurant’s annual food drive started on November 1st. In less than one month, the company collected 10,000 items. The Pass location came in with about 5,000 food items which were donated today to Our Mother of Mercy Church in Pass Christian. Firefighters in Pass Christian helped the restaurant unload supplies at the local church.
Shaggy’s officials say this is their effort to help their neighbors, especially during the holidays. Shaggy’s Director of Public Relations Marcella Richardson said, “We just really like to be able to impact our neighbors and we’re able to donate to food pantries in our area. Pass Christian we donate to Our Mother of Mercy, Biloxi we donate to the Back Bay Mission, Gulfport we donate to Feed my Sheep. And our Pensacola location donates to St. Anne’s Catholic Church there.”
Shaggy’s called on their customers to donate food items during the drive. Customers who donated received a discount on their food at the restaurant.
