BILOXI, MS- Shaggy’s Restaurants in Pass Christian, Gulfport, Biloxi and Pensacola Beach will treat any law enforcement officer to a free lunch or dinner on Thursday, July 14.

Co-owners Ron Ladner and Rimmer Covington Jr. heard about the social media “Wear Blue Campaign” to support law enforcement after the recent tragedies and decided their restaurants and employees would participate.

“These guys need our support more than ever right now,” Ladner said of law enforcement. “We wanted to do something very special to show our appreciation. They risk their lives every day to ensure our safety.”

Their campaign actually started several weeks ago, when Ladner and Covington brought lunch to the support staff at the front office of the Gulfport Police Department. It continued when they recently brought lunch to City Hall in Pass Christian, the St. Rosa Island Authority and The Pensacola Visitors Center.

“On a day of national support for the Dallas Police, I think it’s the least we can do to also show support for our local police officers,” Covington said. “We’re happy to do it in a big way. They deserve it.”
